Emirates Great Britain overcame extremely challenging conditions in Halifax to win the inaugural ROCKWOOL Canada Sail Grand Prix, earning driver Giles Scott a well-deserved maiden SailGP victory.
With rain and strong winds causing havoc on the Halifax Harbour racecourse, Emirates GBR put in a composed and consistent showing across two days of racing to qualify for the winner-takes-all Final, despite not winning any of the five Fleet Races on Saturday or Sunday.
But Scott and his team saved their winning performance for when it mattered most, putting in a dominant showing in the Final to overcome France and ROCKWOOL Denmark and claim a first event win in nine months.
